Gare Loch Milngavie Meatballs in a fresh Tomato Sauce
Ingredients
1Kg Lean Minced Beef
14 Jacobs Cream Crackers – crushed to very small pieces
1 Clove of Minced garlic
2 Free Range Eggs
1 tbsp Mixed Dried Herbs
1 tbsp Fresh Rosemary
1 tbsp Fresh Thyme
1/2tsp Paprika
1/2tsp Salt
1/2tsp White Pepper
2 tsp Tomato Puree
2 tsp English Mustard
The tomato sauce
3 tbsp olive oil
2 onions chopped
1 garlic clove,crushed
1 tsp caster sugar
2 x 400g cans tomatoes use blended fresh
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Parmesan cheese & fresh Basil
Method
Place all ingredients into a bowl, mix well to combine
Divide into golf ball sized meatball approximately 2″ diameter
Refrigerate for 45min
Slow fry in olive oil, before adding to the tomato sauce
Make the Tomato sauce by frying the onions in olive oil, add the garlic cook until the onion are soft
add the cans or blended fresh tomatoes, the caster sugar and Worcestershire sauce
Serve
With spaghetti or linguine pasta, don’t forget to serve with Parmesan & the Basil and a few turns of black pepper
